Job Purpose

We are currently seeking a Direct Services Apprentice Supervisor. As a Direct Services Apprentice Supervisor your role will be focused on the following key areas:

  • To Deliver the Direct Services apprenticeship programme in conjunction with the RCM/Supervisors and local teams.
  • Working as a link between local teams, the apprentices and the national training provider, to ensure successful completion of the specified training.
  • Develop and support the internal up-skilling programme as required.

This job involves regulated activity with children and adults at risk as defined by the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012. Therefore an Enhanced Criminal Record check will be undertaken by the successful candidate prior to employment.

Knowledge, Skills/Qualifications & Experience

 

Each year the post-holder will support on average 11 apprentices across Direct Services (including M&E and workshops).

 

The post-holder will assist in the development of the up-skilling programme with the aim of having at least 5 existing staff in the programme at any one time.

 

Key Accountabilities -

 

  • To ensure that those on training are getting the experience required to achieve their qualification.
  • To oversee the day to day delivery of the training programme.
  • To be the operational contact with the training provider.
  • To balance the needs of the cohorts with that of the Trust.
  • To provide pastoral support required of the cohorts and signpost accordingly.
  • Support the promotion of the scheme and its benefits.
  • Working with the apprentice coordinator to widen the cohort pool and provide experience to external organisations where possible if there is a business benefit to the Trust.
  • Support the development of a potential apprentice feeder scheme..
  • Ensuring that diversity and inclusion are integrated into all aspects of Trust life.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills:

 

  • Educated to Degree level with an appropriate background, for example heritage construction or heritage related subject.
  • Knowledge of construction.
  • Experience in working in construction related activities.
  • Experience in the skills/training sector.
  • IT skills including word, excel & power-point.
  • Social media savvy, LinkedIn, Twitter etc
  • Ability to communicate to a wide range of audiences
  • Strong team player
  • Able to build and maintain relationships at local and region level.
  • Driving licence essential as extensive travel will be required.

Interviews will be conducted on 4th & 5th October in Birmingham.  Applicants must be available on those dates to attend interview.
