Job Purpose

An opportunity to come and contribute to this unique World Heritage Site Visitor Attraction. Working in the Trevor Basin Visitor Centre, you will be the friendly face of the Canal & River Trust, providing excellent customer service to visitors, ensuring they leave with the experience having exceeded their expectations and with a desire to return. You would be working with a small friendly team of staff and volunteers.

 

The successful candidate will provide all customers with the highest standards of service. Going that extra mile every time and initiative are key to being successful in this role.

 

14 hours over 2 days per week, mainly weekends.

Knowledge, Skills/Qualifications & Experience

Experience, skills and knowledge

 

  • You must have the ability to work flexibly & confidently between multiple areas across the business, working to a rota that will mainly include weekends and bank holidays. Weekdays and evenings when appropriate to meet the business demands.
  • Proven experience of prioritising and managing the daily work tasks whilst complying with defined operational standards is essential.
  • Monitoring, maintaining and replenishing stock items to ensure continuous opportunities for contributing to revenue generation streams.
  • Throughout all shifts there will be an element of manual handling, cash handling, building security, cleaning requirements and health & safety procedures that you will be required to adhere to.
  • Experience working in a busy customer service role (essential)
  • Experience of working face to face with customers (essential)
  • Basic IT skills (essential)
  • Ability to speak Welsh (desirable, but not essential)
