  • Job Purpose

    We are looking for a passionate, structured and innovative individual to lead the way on building IT solutions within the Trust. This position will be responsible for the technical design and creation of all new IT solutions, using a combination of internal and external resources, working closely with a diverse array of business functions within the Trust, to deliver first class end results. Current technologies include ERP (SAP), CRM, GIS and the core Microsoft technology stack.

    You will lead the way on IT innovation, taking control of our technology roadmap, ensuring that firstly the Trust is taking advantage of appropriate new IT developments, and secondly that every decision taken on building solutions is in line with the Trust’s strategic roadmap.

    A track record of architecting, designing and delivering IT Solutions, utilising strong technical and business process skills, to meet the requirements of a diverse business and workforce is essential, Experience of managing and shaping a roadmap for a broad technical portfolio, including ERP systems, as well as building and maintaining strong business relationships at all levels are also vital.

    Knowledge, Skills/Qualifications & Experience

    Responsibilities

     

    • Apply broad industry, application, technical and enterprise knowledge to identify solutions and maintain an overall IT Solutions roadmap that supports the Trust’s strategic and operational business goals
    • Review business process and/or technical designs to validate appropriate use of technology, and ensure our systems enhance business processes, operations, and information process flow. Drive system consolidation where possible and keep system footprint manageable and cost-effective
    • Maintain a broad understanding of the organizational business strategies and processes
    • Ensure compatibility and interoperability of all systems
    • Ensure successful completion of all IT Solutions projects by managing scope, approach, workplan, internal and 3rd party resources, technology vendors and risks working with the IT project team
    • Continually review and analyse the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems
    • Review service contracts and maintenance agreements to ensure appropriate and cost-effective security service is in place for the Trust
    • Continually manage organisation design for effective service delivery. Identify and implement best sourcing methods for a specific need or service, including insource/outsource delivery models
    • Guide the development of staff members, including setting objectives, coaching, delivering performance reviews, and advising management on compensation
    • Establish, contribute to and/or adhere to all key departmental operating procedures around governance, project management, software lifecycle management, change management and application security/ controls
    • Ensure continuous delivery of IT services alongside the IT Operations team
    • Promote and oversee strategic relationships between IT and external entities, including application vendors and service providers
    • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance across Trust platforms alongside the IT Security Manager
    • Strategic planning, budget management and optimisation, vendor management & resource management


    Qualifications, Skills & Experience

    • Degree qualified in the field of business administration, computer science or management information systems or equivalent experience. Post graduate qualification desirable
    • Demonstrable experience in managing a complex portfolio of business applications
    • Must have a wide range of application and technology experience, including the following technologies: ERP (preferably SAP), CRM, GIS, SD-WAN, O365 & SharePoint Online
    • Any certification relating to architecture frameworks, e.g. TOGAF is desirable
    • Demonstrable experience managing a team constituting direct and indirect reports, as well as an ability to get the best out of external suppliers and service providers
    • Substantial experience managing large scale technology & integration projects
    • Proven experience in managing the design, development and implementation of scalable software and hardware solutions, systems or products
    • Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
    • Effective and influential spoken, written and presenting skills are required to ensure complex technical concepts can be explained in simple terms
