  • Job Purpose

    We're the charity who look after and bring to life 2,000 miles of waterways across England and Wales, because we believe that life is better by water.     We have a temporary vacancy for a Campaigns & Marketing Manager for a period of 9 months. The role can be based in London or Milton Keynes. 

     

    The successful candidate will play a vital role in promoting the Trust as a waterways and wellbeing charity by using a range of communications and marketing skills and channels to reach a wide range of stakeholders.

    Knowledge, Skills/Qualifications & Experience

    • Take a leading role in the wider communication and marketing team to develop and create content which supports the charity’s ambitions of increasing brand awareness, support for the charity and visitor numbers.
    • Create and communicate content via our various internal and external channels which include pitching to media, digital (web and social) and external marketing such as signage and promotional materials.
    • Take a lead in managing, planning and delivering a series of pre-planned communication campaigns (integrating media relations, digital, and traditional marketing and fundraising)
    • Provide support to protect and enhance the Trust’s reputation e.g. handling planned or unplanned PR, proactive management of media relationships, providing communication advice to the executive team.

     

    Skills & Experience 

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including writing feature length copy, web content and copywriting
    • Comfortable working in a fluid environment with the ability to adapt to changing requirements
    • A strong communications background preferably working within the charity sector
    • Experience of contributing to the creative development of new ideas, strategies, and stories as part of the wider communication and marketing team
    • Experience of writing and creating marketing materials such as leaflets, posters and basic in-house design work
    • Experience in managing events
