Every role across the Trust plays it's part in transforming our canals and rivers into spaces where local people want to spend time and feel better, bringing wellbeing benefits to millions. We are now looking for a National Heritage Policy Advisor, to be Trust’s leading heritage expert for the 200 year old waterway network which is the third largest historic estate in the country, after the National Trust and the Church of England.
The National Heritage Policy Advisor is the leading heritage expert on our collection of canals, listed buildings and structures, UNESCO world heritage site status, together with our museums and archives and is accountable for developing heritage strategy, policy and standards for management and safeguarding of the Trust’s significant heritage assets, many of which are legally protected. The National Heritage Policy Advisor is the chief advocate and champion for waterways heritage to external bodies and contributes to the development and implementation of the Trust’s asset management strategies.
