The Canal & River Trust is among the UK’s largest and newest charities, having been set up in 2012 to care for our historic canals and river navigations across England and Wales on behalf of the Nations.

We are proud to be the guardian of over 2,000 miles of historic inland waterways which touch millions of people in the major cities, market towns and rural villages they run through. Our towpaths are free to use and provide a space to escape, relax, exercise, and improve your physical and mental health and wellbeing. The Trust’s income now exceeds £200m per annum, and is continuing to grow. Our boating customers desire excellent levels of service and the growing number of volunteers and community groups who help us care for the waterways also seek a rewarding experience..

Having established itself as a major new charity, the Trust is on a journey to deliver ambitious new plans and central to this is the creation of six new regions covering England and Wales. The Trust is seeking to appointment 5 Regional Operations Managers, each working within a region. These regions are North West (Wigan), Yorkshire & North East (Leeds) , West Midlands (Birmingham), East Midlands (Newark) and Wales & South West (Gloucester).
