We are currently seeking an Works Engineer to join our Infrastructure Services Team (London and Southeast) to manage Third Party Works.

The teams function is to help promoters achieve their objectives, transform the waterways and enrich lives, while at the same time protecting our customers, infrastructure, buildings, heritage and waterway environment from harm or damage that could result from the promoter’s work. The team recovers fees and charges which go to support the work of the Trust, and handles approximately 300 different schemes per year offering a completely varied work load.

The team links with other teams within the Trust on behalf of the developer to find the necessary solutions to undertake works that will, where possible, enhance the waterway and environment. This makes the workload completely variable which adds to the attraction of working in the team.

Day to day, you’ll have a busy and varied caseload of third party engineering works to manage taking place on or around our waterways and you’ll also be engaging with developers and other key stakeholders to ensure our customers are kept safe and that works don’t negatively impact the character or heritage of our waterways.  The Trust recovers fees and charges for third party works undertaken which go to supporting the wider work of the trust, so income generation is a key part of this post.
